Photo Booth Favors

Picture
One of my favorite details I'm looking forward to is our DIY photobooth. We have hired our photographer's friend to snap the pictures, print them, and then insert them in cardstock photo folders that I am embossing with our logo (see pic). I'm really excited about how the embossing is turning out. I spent $45 or so to get the 100 folders off Amazon.com, $10 on a custom stamp, and then $25 on the following supplies from Hobby Lobby:

-Embossing powder (blue metallic)
-Embossing heat gun
-Embossing ink (sort of like glue)

Kissing Ball

This is my first DIY project.  The florist we are thinking of wants $45 for a real one, but I think it would be more cute and original to do my own.  I bought the following materials for about $5 from Hobby Lobby:

  • Tissue paper of various colors
  • Floral wire
  • Foam craft ball (idk what else to call it)
  • Ribbon
I cut the tissue paper into about 5in x 7in, then took stacks of 4 sheets of alternating colors (gold and purple and navy and purple) and folded them accordion style.  I then wrapped the end of the floral wire around the middle, trimmed the edges so they were rounded, and pulled them up layer by layer so they looked like flowers.  I then stuck the flowers in the ball, but I will probably end up gluing them in place for the final one.  I used a knitting needle to pierce a hole through the middle of the ball, and threaded the ribbon through to make a handle; I tied a knot on the bottom so it wouldn't pull back through.  The craft ball I bought was 6in but the final product is way too large, so I'm going to go back and get a 3in one.  I also want to add some sparkle, maybe some crystals in a few of the flowers.  I'm pretty proud of the semi-end result! :)
