Attire

Right now this is just sort of an inspiration page.  As things start coming together and I start my DIY projects, I will then update with pics of those as much as I can!

***WARNING***  Wedding dress pictures may be posted!!
Do not read if you are David or anyone else who does not want to see the dress until the big day!!

Accessories

Picture
I bought these shoes because I wanted navy, and I debated whether they really "fit" with the dress. But now I'm back to loving them so it's all good! :D

LOVE this bracelet! I bought it on Etsy from vcreations for $30 + free shipping. It came all the way from Malaysia and is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Not too heavy but not too light, and the pearls/rhinestones match the rest of my accessories perfectly!

I got these babies off of Etsy from seller WiredVintage. They are PERFECT for the whole vintage Hollywood thing I'm going for and were only $29 after shipping!

Here's a pic of the vintage comb I bought from another Knottie. It originally sold for $75, but she sold me her blusher veil and the comb for $45!! Should be here any day and I'm really excited for it!

I currently own two veils since I am indecisive about how I want to wear my hair. This one is a two tiered, scalloped edge veil with beading on the edge, similar to my dress. I will wear this one if I decide to wear my hair down since I don't think the birdcage veil looks right with anything but updos. I purchased this off ebay from Venus Veils and the quality is AMAZING for the price (less than $30!)!

This is veil #2, aka my option for an updo. I really love it!! It's bandeau style, so it attaches on both sides of my head with large hair pins. My only concern is removing it without messing up my hair, but we'll see. I bought it off Etsy from FacinatingCreations.

My tank top I purchased on bridalpartytees.com. They have sales ALL the time, and you can customize your items as you'd like. It's really cute and well made, but my issue with it is that the sizes are WAAAAAY off; I am a S/M, ordered a M, and it feels like an XS. So definitely order at least a size or two up, as I've heard this from other girls who've ordered from them. But, with coupons you can get a personalized shirt for less than $10 which you can't beat! I may wear this getting ready, or, if it's warm enough, to our welcome picnic.

Bridesmaids Look

I found a few dresses I love on Target.com.  I want my girls in navy dresses and these are only $50, so we went ahead and purchased these now.  I let the girls choose between a strapless and one with straps, and even though it looks like the strapless is shiny they are actually the same fabric.  Since we just changed our colors, I'm not sure if I want to pair these with gold or plum shoes, and we are probably going to add a sash of some sort.

Another Knottie (Jens_a_ten) had a great idea when dressing her girls in plain black dresses: she purchased various widths of nice ribbon in coordinating colors, layered them on top of each other, sewed a seam down the middle, and VOILA! Pop of color and a little more interesting for hardly a few dollars!

I have also toyed with the idea of 'sewing' my own belts/sashes for the girls, and they're down for it. Kind of like the previous ribbon idea, only using some some additional fabric to make rosettes or flowers. I'd do these in just various shades and types of coordinating gold fabrics. Here are some links to a blog on how to make them (though I think I'd made the flowers on mine a little smaller):

Below are some ideas for bridesmaid shoes.  I'm thinking gold is going to look good and also be more interesting than plain matching navy shoes.  I'm going to let the girls pick the style of shoe as well as the tone of gold that they like best.  Personally, I like the last shoes (the Nine Wests) the best.

Groom/Groomsmen Attire

Originally, we wanted the boys in suits, but we've since changed our minds and decided to go the classic route.

All of the tuxes will be from Men's Warehouse. They are a classic black with a satin lapel, kind of like the picture below. David and our ring bearer, Dalton, will match in dark purple ties with black vests, and the GMs will be wearing midnight ties and vests. Everyone will have plain, white, collared shirts and gold and black cuff links.

We haven't decided if we want to do pocket squares even though the GMs really want them for some reason. MW doesn't really have a huge selection (we can get them in navy but not in the lapis color) and I KNOW that the GMs will lose them. We may possibly buy some additional toned down gold fabric that I might be making the BMs sashes out of and cut out DIY pocket squares.

The Dress

Picture
Sorry for the funky camera angles, but here she is! MY DRESS! After search long and hard, falling in love with a ton of dresses, and falling out love with a ton of dresses, I found this dress at Davids Bridal! I'm very excited! It was supposed to come in in May, but in February I got a call saying it was here! It's now hanging in my office closet and I've already tried it on a few times, haha! Every time a new accessory comes in I put the dress on... who wouldn't?!

The first attempt at a bustle that didn't work out because DB alterations are dumb.
